Sehr kurzfristig erreichte uns eine Anfrage des YDC Theatre aus Malawi, ob sie auf ihrer Deutschland Tournee auch in Bostelwiebeck Station machen könnten. Wir haben natürlich mit großer Freude zugesagt und zeigen so nach Gastspielen aus Australien, der Ukraine auch Theater aus Afrika. Das Stück behandelt das riesige Thema der weltweiten Migration aus der afrikanischen Perspektive.

YDC Theatre
YDC Theatre is a youth-led creative organisation based in Blantyre, Malawi that offers creative services with young people for young audience. YDC provides interactive theatre awareness while involving young creative workshops and performances in secondary schools, colleges, and rural communities while highlighting the human rights issues of children, youth, and women in a society found to be neglected and disregarded of their contributions and strengths in Education, climate change, Mental health, Sexual Reproductive health rights, Gender equality, and Political Governance.
THE JOURNEY AT LAMPEDUZA
In the wake of a tragic incident that shook the world in October 2013, "The Journey at Lampedusa" tells the story of a group of African migrants embarking on a perilous journey across the Mediterranean Sea in search of a better life. Set against the backdrop of the Italian island of Lampedusa, known as a gateway for migrants into Europe, the play follows the harrowing experiences of these individuals as they confront the harsh realities of migration and the unforgiving nature of the sea. Presented in a story format, the production showcases the vibrant energy of its young actors for global audiences. It offers an authentic portrayal of the discourse surrounding immigration concerns, xenophobia, and cultural conflicts, sparking dialogue on these pressing global issues.
